On 6 February 2026, students of the Makoanyane Community Digital Hub demonstrated exceptional leadership, compassion, and community spirit by organizing a memorable Back‑to‑School Give‑Back Initiative for Makoanyane Primary School learners.
What makes this event remarkable is that it was fully driven by the students themselves. Each learner voluntarily contributed R20, with the shared goal of supporting younger children in their community as they prepared for the new school year. Their teamwork and commitment turned this small contribution into a meaningful impact. With their combined effort, the students purchased essential school supplies such as: Sanitary towels for girls:
– Belts for boys
– Socks
– Pens and pencils
– Sharpeners and erasers
In addition, some students went a step further by donating gently used but well-preserved school shoes from their homes to support students in need.
This act of generosity not only brought smiles to the learners of Makoanyane Primary School but also highlighted the values of empathy, responsibility, and community service that the iHub aims to instill in all its participants. The initiative stands as a strong example of how youth can drive positive change when given the opportunity, encouragement, and space to lead. The Makoanyane iHub is proud of its students for taking the initiative to uplift their community and for being role models of kindness and unity.
Their actions remind us that giving back does not require much—only a willing heart and a desire to make a difference.
